Junky Dirt Bike

I thought last semester would've been the end of my blogging days. That was until I booted up canvas and noticed one is due this week. At first, I was upset but now as I am sitting here typing this again, I kind of missed it. For my first topic of the year, I will talk about something that happened this week. But first we are going to backtrack to summer.

I spent the whole summer working at a factory, while it was not the most enjoyable summer, I was able to get a nice amount of money from doing it so I decided to do something I've wanted to do for a while. I have this dirt bike and I wanted to upgrade some of the parts, so about 800 dollars later the build was finally complete, but that's not where this story is going. I came back to college and told my friends about it. I have two friends that were interested in doing the same thing. Well, I had another bike and told them they can come check it out and see if they were interested in it. We looked and they were very interested. We decided to go back this past Monday to check it out further and they could decide to buy it. They were dead set on picking this up that day, until we took a deeper look. Turns out there was a lot wrong with it, we stayed at my housing for almost two hours fully inspecting it until we decided it would not be a smart investment.

Although I was upset, I did not get the chance to sell it I would've felt worse selling it to him with all of the problems that it had. We did the rough math of what it would've cost to completely fix all the problems then make some upgrades and there was no chance they would've broken even to buy, fix it and then sell it. The value just was not there. The most logical approach now I think would be to use it as a parts bike. So, either sell the parts individually or use the parts off of that one for a different bike of mine.

  1. I felt the exact same way as you when it came to having to write blogs again. I was not excited at first, but when I sat down and started typing I regained a comfort that I actually kind of missed. I am so glad we will be able to look back on these when we are old one day!

  2. I also was excited about not blogging anymore for a little bit but mainly because that meant no more content blogs. I did miss blogging about my summer, friends, and adventures! Hopefully as the semester goes on, you learn to love it more and enjoy what you blog.
