Guitar Galore
I am not sure how many people know that I started playing guitar earlier in the year. I think I wrote a blog about my guitar when I bought it. It's been some time now and things have changed. Back in February I brought my dad's acoustic guitar to ONU and decided I want to learn how to play. There were two ways I could go about learning. One is going somewhere and paying for real lessons, now why would I do that? Option two was a magical place called YouTube! I obviously chose YouTube; it was free and if I wanted to give up, I wasn't wasting anyone's time except mine. Since then, I bought an electric guitar of my own and have been playing for eight months but things are changing in my friend group.
Mason is my friend that got me into playing the guitar. He had played for about a year when I met him and now it's almost been two. He is really good and is always buying new guitars that I get to try. Mason and I have always joked about starting a band, but there were only three of us and we all played only guitar. Then Mason went out and bought a cheap little $60 bass guitar, it was funny sometimes one of us would pick it up and mess around. Then Tristen, one of my friends, had an interest in playing the bass and his birthday was coming up. He surprised us because he asked for a bass and now, he had a nice and better quality one. So today I was struggling to find something to write about until Mason told me that him and Grayson (the other one that plays guitar) messaged a guy on Facebook marketplace about an electric drum set. That statement hit me and now it is funny because technically we have all of the pieces needed to create a band like we talked about. Realistically we would never make a band. I don't think any of us are musically inclined to be able to create just one song let alone have an actual band. It would probably be just a cover band but it might happen just to add dad lore and something funny I could say I did.
You guys should totally start a band! I would definitely go watch. Hopefully you don't get scammed this time! LOL! I'm so glad you found an outlet that makes you happy.
