Time to Yap

Week nine is here, and it has largely been the same as before. After returning from fall break, I found the environment unchanged. Not much has happened that warrants a separate blog post since my last entry, so this post will cover various topics.

One of the highlights of my week was the flag football playoffs. We won Monday night but lost to the top-ranked team last night. While I was initially disappointed, I felt a sense of relief; it had been a long season, and I was ready for it to conclude. I appreciated the time spent with friends and enjoyed watching them learn a sport that many had never played before. Although I had promised myself not to join the basketball team this year, I was eventually persuaded to participate. Fortunately, my team has eleven players this season, which alleviates the pressure if I need to take a day off.

Before writing this entry, I took the time to deep clean my room. I had done a thorough cleaning when we first moved in, but I hadn't maintained that level of cleanliness since. Growing up, I disliked cleaning, but I've recently found it to be quite peaceful. It's interesting how quickly my perspective on this task has changed without me realizing it.

After returning from fall break, my cat fell ill. She was lethargic and mostly slept. I was understandably concerned, as she is like my baby, so I decided to take her to the veterinarian. She was diagnosed with a fever and a common virus; after receiving a shot, she appeared perfectly fine by the time I returned to my car. The vet bill was painful to receive, but as long as she is OK, I don't mind. Currently, she is playfully biting my feet and engaging with her toys as I type this, which reassures me that she has returned to normal. However, she has started scratching my couch, which is frustrating; I will need to invest in a scratching post.

Overall, my week has been uneventful enough not to be frustrating, yet not particularly exciting either.

  1. You know how passionate I am about my cat. I feel what you went through. I am so glad you are giving her the care she deserves. I hope you get her a scratching post! If you do, make sure to sneak a photo of it in the next blog. Would love to see it.

  2. No, my room is actually a problem for me right now. With my traveling, I have dirty clothes in piles hidden behind things so it looks clean because I haven't had time to do laundry! LOL. I am so glad you have your new baby to take care of! Congratulations!
